SPECIAL VOTE! Please plan to attend this very important meeting.
After the presentation, the board will update the Membership on our
progress on the relocation from our current facility. Be prepared to
vote on this motion "I endorse the decision of the Executive Board of
AWC The Hague to accept the purchase offer for the AWC Clubhouse dated
January 31, 2012 (clarifications February 2, 2012) and to rent an
interim space to support ongoing club operations while we seek an
optimal long-term clubhouse solution." If you cannot attend PLEASE
complete a proxy which must be received by our Parliamentarian prior
to the vote.

Join us! Our Members are from more than a dozen countries around the world.
Thank you for expressing an interest in the American Women's Club
of The Hague (AWC). We would like to take this opportunity to extend
to you an invitation to join our organization. As a member of the AWC,
you will be entitled to participate in an array of different functions
and activities especially geared toward American women and their
affiliates living overseas. Please explore our events and activities
pages for our latest offerings. We offer a variety of tours and
activities for those of you new to the Netherlands, and also those of
you who have leived here for quite some time.
In addition to access to our activites and events, as an AWC
member you will receive our club magazine, Going Dutch, which is published monthly, September through June (eight issues per year), and is mailed to members prior to each monthly meeting. In it, you will find all the pertinent information concerning the meetings and activities for that month. As a member, you will also receive a copy of our Membership Directory and a complete version of the AWC Constitution and By-Laws.
You don't need to be an American to join!
Membership is available to you immediately if you are at least 18 years of age and hold a United States passport or are married to a United States citizen. You may still join the AWC as a non-American associate member provided you meet one of the following criteria:
> You hold a valid U.S. green card but reside in the Netherlands or
> You have been a member in good standing of another FAWCO club but otherwise are not eligible for admission or
> You have an association with or connection to the U.S. (including simply speaking the English language!) through friends, family or past residence, etc. (Subject to Board approval)
If you would like to join us, please call the club for an application or download one. You can join as a Regular/Associate or a Business/Professional member (full-time employment required). Regular dues are €110 per year. There is a €15 new member registration fee. Dues can be paid by bank transfer to the AWC's ABN/AMRO Account # 51.99.10.206, PIN transaction, or cash. Please call the club for more specifics relating to dues.
We rely on our volunteers!
We are an ALL-VOLUNTEER organization, and our members need to donate time and talent for us to continue providing services and activities. Volunteerism is accomplished through helping in the Tulip Cafe, library, front office; by serving on committees, and through special activities such as the Holiday Bazaar and philanthropic galas. Your contribution, no matter how small, makes a tremendous difference to the AWC.
