Walkie Talkies
Meet at the AWC Clubhouse – Mondays @ 9:30 a.m.
Taking a walk with friends for a couple hours every Monday morning is a fun way to start the week. Join us for an energetic walk to various destinations–across the dunes, through the woods, and/or into different corners of the city. No two walks are the same! CHAT, CRAFT, AND COFFEE
AWC Clubhouse – Tuesdays @ 10:00 a.m.
The AWC welcomes all crafters! Whether you are a quilter, a scrapbooker, or just need a place to stitch, bring your supplies to the Clubhouse so you can chat with fellow AWC members while you work. Ours is a friendly forum for all lovers of crafts, with side-orders of home-baked cakes and coffee. If you have questions, please contact Suzanne Dundas at chatcraftcake@awcthehague.org.
Wassenaar Coffee and Conversation
Location varies – First Thursday of every month from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
If you live in or around Wassenaar, join your neighbors for a friendly coffee gathering at a member’s home once a month. Members and prospective members are welcome. For an invitation to this group, please contact Suzanne Dundas at chatcraftcake@awcthehague.org.

Daytime Book Club
AWC Clubhouse – Once a month @ 10 a.m.
A informal group of members who love to read a new book each month, our AWC Daytime Book Club meets monthly at the Clubhouse, and one member brings snacks and leads the discussion over coffee. Contact Teresa Mahoney at bookclubday@awcthehague.org if you have any questions.
Evening Book Club
Location varies – Once A Month @ 7:30 p.m.
Similar to the Daytime Book Club but with different book selections and meeting times, our AWC Evening Book Club usually meets on the third Tuesday of each month. A different member hosts at their home and provide snacks for the lively discussion over wine. Contact Dena Haggerty at bookclubevening@awcthehague.org for the location and details.
Heart Pillow Workshop
AWC Clubhouse – Every third Tuesday @ noon
For more than 10 years, AWC members have made heart-shaped pillows to support the arms of breast cancer patients in area hospitals. No sewing skills are needed; just the ability to cut and stuff! We are proud to provide women with something not only practical, but comforting as well. For more information, please contact Jan deVries at heartpillow@awcthehague.org.
Thirsty Thursday
Locations vary – Third or fourth Thursday, FROM 6:00 p.m.
Had a busy week? Need an excuse to leave the office/house for a while? It’s time for a break! Members and prospective members are welcome to join us at local restaurants, cafes or bars for Thirsty Thursday, a fun social event. There’s no need to RSVP, just come by when it suits you and stay for a drink or two. The date and location of Thirsty Thursday is always announced on our Facebook page.
WOMEN WITH DUTCH PARTNERS (WWDP)

NEWCOMERS

For all newcomers to the club, including newcomers to The Hague, we organize various events and activities throughout the year aimed at bringing new members together and sharing useful information and tips to make the transition to living here a smooth one.
MAHJONGG
AWC CLUBHOUSE – MONDAYS FROM 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
This ancient Chinese games is played with tiles and 4+ persons, and is a great exercise for the brain! We play the international version with 144 tiles and no scoring. Be prepared for a game of strategy and luck that will quickly become addictive! Don’t know how to play? Come to one session for a practice lesson. PICKLEBALL
SPORTSHALL HOUTRUST – THURSDAYS FROM 10:00 – 11:30 A.M.
Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the USA, and becoming more and more popular internationally. It is a mix of tennis, badminton and table-tennis, and is played with a paddle and plastic ball on a badminton sized court. Film Club

Every month, the Film Club attends a viewing at a local cinema. Different film genres & choices always keep things interesting!
BLOOM!
AWC CLUBHOUSE – third wednesday of every month
The Bloom! Gardening Club will meet every month to inspire interest in pot and ground gardening through sharing experiences, tips, tricks, and pics. Experienced or novice, indoor and outdoor gardeners, all are welcome.
MEALS FOR THE HOMELESS
Every 2nd Friday and 4th Friday of the Month. 1.30-4pm
Do you have time on your hands and would like to help give back to those in need? Then please consider helping with Meals for the Homeless. We prepare salads in the summer at the clubhouse or soups in winter at the Straatpastoraat near Westeinde for 120-150 homeless people. 4 volunteers are needed for each session.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
Our Monthly Meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month and often feature a guest speaker. Newcomers are always welcome. Check the Calendar for details or look out for our Facebook or Instagram posts.
SEMI-ANNUAL KICK-OFFS
We host an open house at our Clubhouse twice a year: in September–to “kick off” the new Club year, and in January–to welcome members back after the holidays. These events are great opportunities for potential members to drop in and learn more about AWC The Hague. Each year, the dates and times are posted on our Facebook page and in our Calendar on this website.
