The American Women’s Club of The Hague (AWC The Hague) is a nonprofit, English-speaking social club that warmly welcomes women of all nationalities. With more than 200 members from over 20 countries around the world, AWC The Hague focuses on building connections, fostering friendship, empowering women and girls, and giving back to our local community.
ABOUT US

AWC The Hague was formed in 1930 by a group of American women who had been meeting socially when they decided to organize in a more formal way. The 55 original charter members held monthly meetings, teas and programs, including an annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Hotel Des Indes. As a guest at the first dinner, Judge Frank Billings Kellogg learned that that he had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of the Kellogg-Briand Peace Pact of 1928.
AWC The Hague is one of the founding members of the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas (FAWCO). Today, FAWCO is a global NGO and holds special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council. All AWC The Hague members also benefit from membership to FAWCO.
